Throughout the history of literature, there have been several different time periods and each has a specific aspect that is focused on in works from that era. Usually, they all share this feature and it can be identified in each, even if the works are written by different authors. They still will have some kind of similar theme, and the era to be focused on is the age of romanticism. Where there were several themes that were encompassed in these works, but the main theme was that of good vs evil. This one theme acts as an umbrella for many others that fall underneath it. The theme of good vs. evil is extremely prevalent within works from the Romanticism period such as The Scarlet Letter, Young Goodman Brown, and even in modern day. Good vs Evil is one of the main themes of the Scarlet Letter which was written by Nathaniel Hawthorne, another esteemed author of the time. This theme is very broad and can be specified, like for example the idea of society as a group of sinners. In the sc arlet letter, when the meteor shoots across the sky whilst Dimmesdale and Hester, and Pearl are on the platform, the light from the meteor acts as a sort of focus light and reveals the truth, the fact that they sinned. In America, we should not pass laws where the primary concern is morality; we should only pass laws which have civil values as their primary concern. Civil values in this case are values which either ensures the safety or order of a society, such as, traffic laws or zoning laws. Also involved are more important values such as freedom, democracy, and liberty which have been laid out by our founding fathers. I have two basic reasons for holding this view. ADN vs BSN: What’s in the alphabet soup Established in the U. S. in 1909, baccalaureate programs provided a comprehensive education for anyone whom desired to become a nurse professional. Generally this education pathway consisted of fives years of formal education, with three years providing a concentration on the nursing practice. Included in this preparation where courses on public health and education. Later, the preparation was expanded to include courses such as evidence-based practice, clinical prevention, improved patient outcomes and other upper lever critical thinking courses. In the mid 1950’s the U. S. encountered a nursing shortage and the demand for nurses became great.
